Visual Speech Analysis,Application to Arabic Phonemes

چکیده
The aim of this work is to introduce a primary research on Arabic audiovisual analysis. Each language has multiple phonemes and visemes and each viseme can have multiple phonemes. The first part focuses on how to classify Arabic visemes from still images, whereas the second part shows the variation of Pitch for each viseme. We haven’t taken coarticulation of visemes in context. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, we collected a large number of speech visual signal of ten Algerian speakers male and female at different moments pronouncing 28 Arabic syllabuses. In our work, we demonstrate 11 final visemes representing the 28 consonantal Arabic phonemes.

Aspects of visual speech in Arabic
In this paper, we present a study of visual speech in Arabic. More specifically, we performed a lipreading recognition experiment on Arabic, where a set of consonant-vowel stimuli were presented as visual-only speech and participants were asked to report what they recognized. The overall lipreading scores were consistent with other experiments in other languages. The resulting consonant confusi...

In this paper, we introduce thorough statistical analysis of the Arabic phonemes from a widely used Arabic corpus that was developed by King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) w...
متن کاملHelpful Statistics in Recognizing Basic Arabic Phonemes
The recognition of continuous speech is one of the main challenges in the building of automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems, especially when it comes to phonetically complex languages such as Arabic. An ASR system seems to be actually in a blocked alley. Nearly all solutions follow the same general model. The previous research focused on enhancing its performance by incorporating supplemen...

We propose in this work a novel acoustic phonetic study for Arabic people suffering from language disabilities and non-native learners of Arabic language to classify Arabic continuous speech to pathological or healthy and to identify phonemes that pose pronunciation problems (case of pathological speeches). The main idea can be summarized in comparing between the phonetic model reference to Ara...
